This practical session is designed for researchers considering career opportunities beyond academia.

It explores how AI is reshaping recruitment, from automated CV screening to AI-influenced selection processes, and helps participants articulate the value of their research skills for non-academic roles.

Attendees will gain insight into emerging hiring practices and leave with practical strategies for positioning themselves confidently in a changing job market.

As a result of attending this course, you will be able to:.

- explain how AI is reshaping recruitment, including automated CV screening and AI-influenced selection processes.

- articulate the value of your research skills and experience for roles beyond academia.

- recognise emerging hiring practices and what they mean for non-academic job applications.

Presenter(s):

This session is delivered by Dr Naomi Tyrrell.

Dr Naomi Tyrrell is an ICF-accredited coach, trainer and researcher with over 20 years? experience supporting people in universities, research organisations and non-profits, and four years of delivering AI training to researchers.

A former academic (PhD, 40+ publications), she places ethics at the centre of all her AI training and is the founder of Alt Ac Careers.
