The Wellbeing project supported the University鈥檚 target to reduce carbon emissions and improve sustainability standards to achieve Carbon Net Zero by 2030 and the University鈥檚 strategy 2030 vision to lead meaningful action against the climate emergency and ecological crisis. The building has achieved a BREEAM 鈥楨xcellent鈥 rating, meaning it is of high sustainable performance for the environment. The project also achieved zero waste to landfill.

The building was created working alongside Premier Modular, who built the facility off-site using their 鈥楳odern Methods of Construction鈥. This produced 67 per cent less energy and resulted in up to 50 per cent less time spent onsite when compared with traditional methods.鈥

The building opened at the end of October 2023.
